A Mother's Story

I am 24 years old and my husband and I have been married for three years. My husband is a landscaper and I am a dental hygienist. We were ready to start a family about two years ago and have patiently been waiting for the time to come. This is our first child and it is a boy.
I absolutely love being pregnant, I love that my husband and I have made this happen together. It is funny to see all the changes that my body is going through. I look forward to being a mom, everything about it: watching this little person slowly grow up and develop a cute personality. I look forward to starting a family, going on vacations and teaching my children things that my husband and I like to do: snowboarding, playing sports, and riding dirt bikes.
I think having pictures of all my pregnancies is very important. Being able to show my children what I looked like when they were inside me and just having those memories to look back on is so special.

Note on this image: more with sheer- "puddling" this time. (see April)

I've been in Maui

This shot is of one of the servers at the lu'au. Nice sunset.

I love this one of a dancer- the only part of her not moving (therefore sharp) is her back foot.
This time of year is the end of the humpback whale migration. We saw moms and babies, and males breaching and slapping the water with their tail fins. Way cool.

This image is at the black sand beach on the road to Hana. This guy brought a spear with his snorkling gear. We watched him dive and come up wrestling an octopus into his net!

One of our many snorkling pictures. Our favorite spot was Molikini Crater- highly reccommend it!

We saw many green sea turtles. Some "giant" ones were near as big as me!
This shot is from the lava fields. Near the beach there is broken white coral tumbled in against all this black lava rock. Fascinating stuff.

Just had to share with ya!

April 19th Event "A Woman of Virtue"

Ten Women, Ten Stories
A Musical Parable

This was a touching event. All the women involved went way beyond your average "help". They really put everything they had into it.

The performance was set amidst hand carved wood tables and chairs, and the doors were carved by a local artist.

The women who sang have exquisite voices. I'd be surprised if there was a dry eye in the place.

Poly and her family hand carved and oiled over 30 wood platters for each table.

She catered the entire event (no small feat), and inspired the idea to have the young women who served the food dress authentically and put the baskets on their heads, which drew ooh's and ah's from the crowd.

Special thanks to Poly Hartvigson, Julie Jones, and Ann Gray.
